Frequently asked questions

What version is this for?

This server supports the Steam version of Project Zomboid. If you’re using the latest version on Steam, you’re good to go.

Does the server come with multiple ports?

Yes! We provide you with an additional port specifically for setting the UDPPort, which is required for Project Zomboid to function properly. You’ll find this port in your dashboard under the Network section.

What’s the max player count?

That’s entirely up to you. We don’t limit the number of players you can add — you can go beyond 20 if you want. Just keep in mind that performance depends on your server specs, so if things start to get laggy, it might be time to upgrade.

Can I run a beta branch?

Yes, you can switch to a beta branch (like unstable or IWBUMS), but you’ll need to reinstall the server for it to apply correctly. If you’re unsure how, our support team is happy to help.

How can I assign my port in the server settings?

You can manage this from your dashboard under the Startup tab. There you’ll find a field to set the UDPPort. If you need guidance, feel free to reach out to support.

3,5GB RAM? CPU Boost?

Yeah, we get it — those numbers might look a bit odd. But after extensive testing, we found that just a little extra RAM makes a big difference in how smooth your gameplay feels. That’s why we’ve included 3.5GB of RAM in the base package — not just a random number, but a tested upgrade for a better experience.

As for the CPU boost — we noticed that during world generation and when multiple players join, a little extra power goes a long way. That’s why our extended packages come with additional CPU boost to help your server handle those heavy moments with ease.

Don’t worry though — the game runs great on the base specs for most playstyles. The extras are there to make things smoother when it matters most.
